Civic Election on Wednesday

Here are my thougts on the upcoming Mayoral Election, I must admit I haven't had enough time to get out and campaign which is disapointing on my part, so the best I can do today is urge all of you to get out and vote, especially if you live in the following parts of the City:

North Kildonan - Vote for my friend Jeff Browaty
St. James - Vote for my friend Scott Fielding

They are exceptional people and would bring a breath of fresh air to city council. I have to commend them for putting their names forward and seeking public office. I just wish I had the time to help them...unfortunately time has been a valuable commodity for me as of late.

One more thing, I am sure many of you have seen them, but I think they are well produced and powerful ads by the Canadian Forces, if you have a moment check them out!

Now let's talk about Studio 60!
This show gets better and better, I swear if Aaron Sorkin wrote a drama about working at McDonald's it would convince me to go back to my teenage years and work their.

Think of the drama, the Drive through girl is cheating on the crew chief with the Assistant Manager...the clock is ticking and if we don't get the big mac out in the next 60 seconds their will be hell to pay.

Anyway, I want to direct you to a new blog, a decent read and a nice addition to the realm of manitoba political blogs...so have a read if you are intersted and please disagree with him all you want!

That is about it for me tonight...time to hit the sack, but let me leave with one insiprational quote from The West Wing.

"I was watching a television program before, with a kind of roving moderator who spoke to a seated panel of young women who were having some sort of problem with their boyfriends - apparently, because the boyfriends had all slept with the girlfriends' mothers. And they brought the boyfriends out, and they fought, right there on television. Toby, tell me: these people don't vote, do they?"

I waited for a post more my speed before commenting. (Ok ok ok, I actually didn't know you were back and my reader isn't picking up your feed, not sure why... )

ANYWAY... welcome back dear Conor! Congrats on the new job and its nice to have you around again! All those sad little political bloggers were having tiffs without you and I'm sure they missed your pretty face.

My TV addiction this season = The Nine. I really want to get into Heroes but can never seem to find the time to catch up on the missed episodes. AHH!

I'm down with the Lemon Chicken. :)

Both Scott and Jeff are kids who live at home with mommy and daddy. Why the hell should anyone consider them as viable candidates?

Umm, maybe anonymous should climb out from underneath that rock of his and pick up a newspaper.

Both Scott and Jeff un-seated incumbents Lubosch and Eadie...

So I guess the electorate could care less who you live with, they are just satisfied with the fact that they will do an amazing job representing the people of their communities.

Yeah that's what I call a bitch slap!

I prefer Andy Fletcher over the Lemon Chicken. At least he is a progressive conservative and not a progressive liberal!

Hey I prefer Andy Fletcher over lemonchicken any day of the week...but to promote balance we even highlight blogs like lemonchicken and besides we can gang up on him.

Don't blink, the Chicken will change parties again.

How will Jeff be able to combine both university and City Council? Will they have to structure meetings around his class schedule? And what about his home life? Will Jeff have to leave halfway through City Council to go home to walk the dog?

Conor Lloyd said...

Ummm, first of all Jeff is a graduate of the IH Asper School of Business with a B.Comm

And I am sure Jeff will balance his homelife like the rest of council...

God don't you just wish people would check their facts before they make complete idiots out of themselves.
